Edward “Ted” Ducharme
Suddenly on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Portage District General Hospital, Edward “Ted” Ducharme of St Ambroise, beloved husband of Edna, passed away at the age of 71 years.
Prayers will be held on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 1:30 PM at the St Ambroise Roman Catholic Church. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Father Eric Giddens officiating. Interment will follow in the St Ambroise cemetery.
Ted was born on June 26, 1937 to Rod and Rosanna Ducharme in St Ambroise where he was raised and received his education. He married Edna Lafreniere on October 27, 1956, and they resided in St Ambroise and raised seven children. Ted was a very well known Guide for hunting and also fished. He drove school bus for many years and was also a commercial fisherman. He owned his own gravel truck company and retired in the early 1990’s.
Predeceased by his parents and two brothers Norman and Brian. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of fifty-one years Edna; five sons: Del (Cheryl) of Winnipeg, Ray (Peggy) of St Ambroise, Wes of Winnipeg, Sterling (Lucille) of St Laurent, and Jason (Deanna) of St Ambroise; two daughters: Jeannette (Doug) Adams of Winnipeg and Joanne of Winnipeg; seventeen grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; three brothers : Leo (Anita), Pat (Elaine) and Jim (Jocelyn) all of St Ambroise; five sisters: Olive Strang of Iowa, Nora Hiebert of Winnipeg, Clara Marriot of St Ambroise, Sherry Bell of Portage la Prairie and Marie Mangin of St Ambroise; and several nieces and nephews.
