Michael Stanley Price

Suddenly on Saturday, May 8th, 2010 at the Portage District General Hospital, Michael Stanley Price of Roland Manitoba, formerly of Portage la Prairie, beloved husband of Eileen Price passed away at the age of 73 years.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM

Mike was born on February 24, 1937 in London, England where he was raised and received his education. He served in the 2nd Battalion of the British Parachute Regiment. In 1954, he married Eileen Byford and in 1961 they immigrated to Canada. In Portage he farmed for a couple of years and then in 1963 began his career at M.D.C. where he retired from in 1991.

His interests included golfing, fastball, bowling, curling, gardening, darts and judo.

Predeceased by his parents and one son Carl, Mike leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 56 years Eileen; five sons David (Nancy) of Winnipeg, Jonathan (Rose) of Vancouver, BC, Marc (Irene) of Winnipeg, Steven (Cyndi) of Brandon and Earl (Mireille) of Englehart, Ont; two daughters, Karen (Terry) O’Reilly of Portage and Tara Gaudreault of Edmonton, AB; daughter-in-law Gail of Prince Rupert; twelve grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother David and two sisters, Winifred and Shirley, all of England, and many nieces and nephews.
