Established in 1973 when the Portage Consumers Co-operative purchased the Funeral Home from George R. McMaster. We have had a long and reputable tradition in the city of Portage la Prairie since our establishment in the early 1920’s by Ralph N. Rae. The home became the McMaster Funeral Home in 1950, when George R. McMaster purchased the funeral home from Rae’s.
At its inception, Mr. Merle Lamb was the Manager of the Funeral Home until his retirement in 1982. Garth H. Clary, a long time employee of the funeral home then became manager. Garth continued to manage the funeral home until his retirement in 2003. After the Retirement of Garth, Dave Citulsky, a long time employee at the Omega Funeral Home took over as managing director. Dave instills in his staff the necessity to maintain the highest level of service possible for the families we serve. Omega Funeral Home has maintained a leadership role in the industry and have prided themselves on exceptional, personal, and caring service. The families that we serve can concentrate on their own needs because we take care of all the details.
You are welcome to call us at any time of the day, any day of the week, for immediate assistance. Or, visit our funeral home in person at your convenience. We also provide a wealth of information here on our web site so you can learn more from the privacy of your own home.
