Mrs. Agnes Wiesbrot of High River, Alberta passed away peacefully on June 8, 2015 at the High River Hospital at the age of 90 years. Agnes is survived by her son Ken (Evelyn) Wiesbrot of High River; daughters Louise (Jim) Spence of Langley, BC, Wendy of Manitoba; grandchildren Kelvin (Bonnie), Rodney (Teresa) Spence, Glenn (Tammy) Wiesbrot, and seven great grandchildren; brothers Abe Schapansky and George Schapansky. Agnes was predeceased by her husband Philip Wiesbrot on June 24th, 1996. Mom was born in Wymark, Saskatchewan, where she spent her younger years experiencing the dirty 30’s, her family moved to LaCrete in the Peace River area for a short period before moving to the Gladstone area in Manitoba. Mom met Phillip Wiesbrot while working as an assistant for Phillip’s Mom on their farm. They married February 12th, 1944 and moved to a farm near Neepawa, MB where they raised their family. Later on, Mom worked in the health care field as a Nursing Assistant at the Neepawa Hospital. After they sold their farm they moved to Abbotsford, BC for a short stay and then finally moving to Portage La Prairie, MB where Mom continued her nursing career until retirement. Mom then moved to High River, AB in February 2011 to be closer to family. Mom enjoyed sewing, music and singing and raising her family – she always enjoyed church fellowship and believed in her Creator.
An Interment Service will be held at the Hillside Cemetery (25 St NW, Portage la Prairie, MB) on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
