James John “Jim” Wolfe

On Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Portage District General Hospital, James John “Jim” Wolfe passed away peacefully with his children by his side.  He was 71 years old.

Jim was born in Portage in 1946 and lived most of his life on the family farm near MacDonald with his loving wife Linda, and children Jamie and Jennifer.  Jim and Linda moved into Portage in 1999.  Jim could be found working at the Portage Co-op until he retired in 2013.  Jim loved being on the go and was unwilling settle down, and he enjoyed getting back on the land and helping out local farmers since then.  He enjoyed travelling to Mexico with his wife, and recently took a trip to Ireland with his siblings and children, travelling to where his Father was born and lived before moving to Canada.

Jim is survived by his wife Linda; his son Jamie (Michelle) and grandchildren (Cassidy, Madeline, Cian); his daughter Jennifer (Colin) and grandchildren (Emmalie, Kaitlin, Vanessa, Ryan); his sister Margaret (Don); his brother Bob (Donna); and his nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents George and Agnes.

Memorial service will be held at the Omega Funeral Home on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 1:00 PM.  Internment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
