Kenneth (Duff) Duffield

December 1, 1957 – April 9, 2016

            On Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg, MB, Ken Duffield of Portage la Prairie, MB, beloved husband of Donna Duffield, father of Chad and Kendra, passed away at the age of 58 years.

            Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM with the The Rev. Mitred Michael Skrumeda officiating.          Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

            Left to mourn are his wife of 36 years Donna, their two loving children, Chad and Kendra, sisters-in-law Anne McCowan, Rosemarie Storm, her children and Ken’s God Children, Todd Storm(Lindsay) and Stefanie Storm(Scott).

Ken was a lifelong mechanic. In his early years, Ken enjoyed fixing just about anything. He pursued and obtained accreditation as an auto mechanic, agriculture mechanic, air conditioner technician, and vehicle inspector. After 25 years of working for C.P. Rail and owning his own business, Ken retired to pursue a new career at Syncrude in Fort MacMurray.

            As passionate as he was about his career, Ken’s life revolved around his family. There was nothing more important to him than his wife, children, and his mother-in-law, “Baba” (Olga). Although these were the people closest to Ken, he had a way to make everyone he met feel loved and important. Ken was a man of integrity, strength, and he was a great role model to many. He has many, many good friends and colleagues who will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations can be made to Stars Air Ambulance, the Lyme Disease Association or a charity of yourt choice.
