Norma Doreen Guinn

         It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother Norma Doreen Guinn on May 21, 2017 at the Portage District General Hospital with her daughter Nancy Creighton and granddaughter Staci Creighton at her bedside.

        Norma was born December 1, 1924 in the Flee Island district of Portage la Prairie, MB. She was predeceased by her late husbands John Murray Guinn (1992-2011), Bernie Furrie (1972-1991) and Les D. Bell (1947-1971).

         Norma is survived by daughter Nancy Creighton (Stan), grandchildren Staci and Daryl (great grandchildren Brooklyn and Reagan); daughter Linda Bell (Ray) grandchildren Ryan and Taryn (Josh) (great granddaughter Lexxis); son Les D. Bell Jr., granddaughter Tiffany (Cody) (great grandchildren Cole and Ty), grandson Travis.

         Norma enjoyed many things especially traveling, being outdoors spending summers at her Delta Beach cottage, reading, watching birds, enjoying many walks on the beach especially after a storm combing for treasures.

       Norma worked in several retail establishments in the Portage community and was active in many community clubs ie: as a long standing member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1949, eventually becoming Worthy Grand Matron from 1994-1997.

       The last several years Norma lived at the Lions Prairie Manor where she made may friends and acquaintances and will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.

       The family would like to thank the staff at the Lions Prairie Manor and the Portage District General Hospital for their care and concern.

      Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Lions Prairie Manor, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. A private interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

       If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to PAWS (Portage Animal Welfare Society Inc.)
