Welcome to the memorial page for

Patricia Yendall

January 3, 2016 ~ August 5, 2016

Patricia Anne Yendall

Patricia Anne Yendall (nee Asham)(Patsy) passed away peacefully at her residence on August 5th,2016 at the age of 72 years young.

She was predeceased by her partner Gerritt Tjaden in Jan. 2015, her parents Nora and Garland Asham, and her older brother John.

She leaves to mourn her only beloved daughter Anita (Jim) Kowerchuk and their daughters Tawnee (her "Sunshine")(Brady Beddome), and Alexa (her "Angel")(Josh Gray), and her step-daughter Tammy (Rick) Berard. She was so proud of her precious great-grandchildren Harley and Julian, and loved her step-grandchildren Jade and Logan, all with whom she had a special bond. Her brother Billy, his wife Janice, and her sister-in-law Bev Asham will also mourn her loss. She leaves behind her nephews Faron, Ferlin, Farrol, Justin and Jarrett and their families, as well as many cousins and friends who will miss her as well. Her dearest longtime friend Marlene Birston will miss their phone chats, dinners, and visits.

She was born the only daughter of Garland and Nora Asham on January 3, 1944. After her schooling and various jobs, she began a career at the Officer's Mess at Southport, where she took great pride and happiness in working alongside her father for much of her 28 years there. She had a wonderful work ethic and after becoming a young single mom at 20, she worked her whole life to provide the best she could for her daughter Anita, to whom she remained dedicated. She never forgot and always appreciated the help of her mom and dad, whom she never stopped missing after their passing.

She loved hockey, and was an avid Portage Terrier season ticket holder for many years. She waited not-so-patiently for each new season to begin with the team, and also with the NHL on TV. She also loved chatting to the people she considered friends at her beloved "Chicken Chef". She was so looking forward to the grand opening, and called this her "happy place".  She was a night-owl, a lover of horses, music, reading, and "cook shows" (Bobby Flay was her favorite!), and was ever-cheerful to everyone she encountered in her life. She was never one to speak badly of anyone (even if they deserved it!).  She was quick to love and even quicker to forgive - a trait we could all learn from.  Her dimpled smile was infectious, her sense of humour cheeky, witty, and wacky - her nephews lovingly called her "Crazy Auntie Pat". The twinkle in her eye will never be forgotten by those who knew and appreciated her.

We have lost a truly kind and good-hearted person who was small and feisty, but her heart huge and genuine. We can now take comfort and faith in the fact that she is in Heaven with her dear mom and "Daddy" and her brother Johnny, and they're enjoying a "good ole cup of tea" and waiting for hockey to start.

"Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag and smile, smile, smile"......and all that jazzy.

The family would like to thank the Portage Ambulance and RCMP staff for their prompt and professional service.

Prayers will be held Thursday, August 11, 2016 at St. Mary's Anglican Church at 7:00 p.m.

Memorial Service will be held at Friday, August 12, 2016 at Omega Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date in the Hillside Cemetery, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
