            On Wednesday, June 29, 2016, Donald Robert “Bob” Foster, of Portage la Prairie, MB, passed away peacefully at his residence at the age of 82 years.

            A Memorial Come and Go Tea will be held at the Omega Funeral Home on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM.

            Bob was born at Treherne, MB on July 3, 1933. He was predeceased by his longtime companion Eleanor Lee in 2011; grandson Jamie Foster in 2016; brothers Kenneth Foster in 1948 and Vernon Foster in 2003; and great grandson Ethan James. He leaves to mourn him his daughter Ella and Craig Spence of Brandon; son Donald Foster of Dacotah, MB; step daughters Cathy & Wayne Banfield, Sheri & Cory Thurston; grandchildren Misty-Dawn and Warren Reavely and Madison Spence; great grandchildren Dannyssa Goertzen; step grandchildren Hunter Burston, Kailey and Carleigh Banfield. Bob also leaves to mourn his brothers Barry & Cheryl Foster from British Columbia and Stewart & Sandra Foster from Saskatchewan. 

            Bob lived his life in Portage la Prairie. He worked for a while at Campbell Soup in the 60’s and after in Churchill as a meat cutter. He then started at Southport as a cleaner and at the Armoury on 2nd St where he worked for a total of 21 years. In his off time he liked to putter around the house rigging new gadgets either for his garden, collection of birdhouses, and for family members. Beside Eleanor his other 2 companions over the last few years were his dogs Candy and Scrappy.

            He will be sadly missed at coffee time and at the MCC so CHEERS to all who knew and loved him.
