            It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Venetta Wood surrounded by her family.

            Now it's time to celebrate her life and all she was to so many to be held on Wednesday, December 14th at 1:00 pm at Omega Funeral Home in Portage la Prairie.

            Viewing will take place Tuesday evening at the Omega Funeral Home from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. 

            A private family interment will take place at the Carberry Cemetery.

            Venetta was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Dorothy Hay. She was married to Paul Wood for 52 loving years. She will be lovingly remembered by her three children Rhonda (Jeff), Richard (Christine), and Jackie (Rob). She will also be in the hearts of her five grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Rhianne, Sophie and Evan. Left to cherish her memory is her family Wayne Hay (Jean), Robert Hay (Lori), Sandra Hay, Joan Hay, Elizabeth Rose (Bob), Aunt Denise and Uncle Bob Alger, dear friend Loraine Petroschuk, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Over the years, our mom's successful health battles showed us the impossible was possible. She always defied the odds and taught us daily what courage and strength really were. Her gentle and loving heart was an inspiration to all the lives she touched. We would like to thank the Health Science Centre for the extraordinary care she recently received. We would also like to thank Dr. Harris, Dr. Ross, Dr. Macklem and all the staff at the Portage General Hospital for the care she received over the years.
