Audrey Elaine Lamb

     On Monday August 5th, 2019, Audrey Elaine Lamb passed away peacefully.  Audrey was born on December 4th, 1928 in Oakbank, Manitoba, the youngest of three children to Arthur and Isabel Stevenson.  As the daughter of a CPR Station Agent, she was raised in several small communities throughout Manitoba.  It was in MacGregor that she met, and later married Merlin Lamb on July 18th, 1949. They settled in Austin, and together ran Lamb’s Solo Store for many years.  In 1969 they sold the store and, along with their three children, moved to Portage la Prairie, where they enjoyed the rest of their years.  She and Merlin were married for 69 years.

     Audrey very much enjoyed time with family and friends.  She liked to golf and curl in her younger years, and she was a member of Eastern Star for over 60 years. She grew up in a musical family and loved to play piano.  There were many late dinners in the Lamb household when Audrey happily lost track of time playing her piano. 

     In their retirement, Audrey and Merlin spent several winters in Texas, where they enjoyed old friendships and cultivated new ones.

     Audrey was predeceased by husband Merlin in 2018, son Keith in 1984, brothers Arthur (Lena) Stevenson, and Earl (Emma) Stevenson. 

     Left to cherish her memory are daughter Vicki (Garry) Wright, granddaughter Lindsey (Jason) Goderis and their daughter Everly, granddaughter Hailey Wright (Neil Fogg), daughter Sandra (Dale) Wood, granddaughter Lori Wood (Doyle Moar) and their daughter Lauren, grandson Mitch (Jenna) Wood and their children Atlee and Chase, grandson Kurt (Carley) Wood and their son Ian, and daughter-in-law Joy Lamb.

     The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care Audrey received in her home, and in her final days at Lions Prairie Manor.  To her wonderful, caring neighbors at Queens Court, Thank You.

     If friends so wish, donations in Audrey’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  In accordance with Audrey’s wishes her family will honour her memory privately.
