Joyce Eleanor Lidster (Garnham)

          Joyce Eleanor Lidster (Garnham) passed away peacefully in the early hours of March 8, 2018 surrounded by family.  On January 5, 1933, Mom was born to Alfred and Zella Garnham (nee Keitch).  The second youngest in a family of 12, Joyce is survived by her brother George.

          Joyce married Robert Holmes Lidster on May 10, 1952.  They had 6 children; Linda (Grant) Young, Kathy Duffin, Bill, Alfred, Robert (Wendy) and Janet (Ralph) Lamirande.  She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great grand children with 2 more babies due to arrive this spring.  Joyce was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert, who passed away in 1999. 

          Mom loved to bake for her family.  When we were children it was a treat to have store bought bread.  We never realized how good we had it.  If you stopped by for coffee you could be sure you would be offered mom’s homemade cookies or banana muffins.

          After her children were grown Joyce enjoyed nothing better than yelling “bingo”.  You could find her at the bingo hall with her friends most Saturday afternoons or Monday evenings enjoying what she loved.         

        Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Road S., Portage la Prairie, MB.  Interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens following fellowship and lunch.
