Kelvin Matthew McDonald

            On Tuesday, March 14, 2017, after a lengthy illness, Kelvin Matthew McDonald, of Portage la Prairie, beloved husband of Patricia McDonald, passed away at the Portage District General Hospital, at the age of 52 years.

            Memorial service will be held in St Mary’s la Prairie Anglican Church on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2:30 PM.

            Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

Kelvin was predeceased by his father Roy McDonald. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children Colin (Sydney), Jamie (Julio), Gade, Dylan and Reese; his mother, Mary; brothers Gerald (Donna), Jim, Terry (Doris) and Wayne (Tammy); numerous other extended family members; and his very faithful companion “Squirt”.

Kelvin was raised in Portage la Prairie and graduated from P.C.I. He worked at the Holiday Haven in Winnipeg, CanadianTire and the Manitoba Developmental Centre until his illness forced him to stop. He loved his music. He was a member of the Oddfellow Lodge #3 in Portage. In addition to his wife Patricia, his children were a very large part of his life.
