Marlene Sharon Lavallee (nee Hatch)
It is with heavy and broken hearts that we announce the passing our mother, wife and mama. Marlene was born in Portage la Prairie on March 6th, 1953 and passed March 13th, 2018
Marlene was predeceased by her parents George and Dora Hatch, brothers Brian and Garry Hatch, daughter Jennifer Lynn, various members of her family and in-laws. She leaves to mourn her husband of 46 years, John Lavallee, daughter Bobby-Jo Lavallee and son Jeremy Lavallee, grandsons, Maddox Dunmall, Daylon Roy, Jared Roy and numerous uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marlene's life was her family. She was a devoted mother and wife, always putting the needs of her family before her own. Marlene battled cancer for 23 years. She showed an incredible fight throughout her years of dealing with this horrific disease!
Marlene loved family times and she cherished everyday that her family was by her side. She loved sports, especially the Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Blue Jays. She also loved playing baseball and curling. One game of slo-pitch she always talked about was when her 2 daughters, her son, her husband and her played the same game. Marlene grew up at the family farm in High Bluff, she loved the country side, the lake and the Delta Marsh while living at the house she and her husband built together. She always fussed about her house, it seemed like there was always something that needed to be done. She kept John busy all the time. Yard sales and garage sales were also high on her list. Marlene also loved working for Manitoba Conservation, at the St. Ambroise Provincial Park or at the Yard and Maintenance property in Portage. Marlene made many friends, which was one of her wonderful qualities. Marlene and the rest of the family were devastated when her daughter Jennifer passed.
Marlene was a woman of incredible strength, compassion and she loved her family deeply. She also loved her fur babies Max and Mister. A celebration of Marlene`s life was held on Saturday, March 17th, 2018 at the St. Ambroise Catholic Church in St. Ambroise, Manitoba.
