     It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bruce Donald Nichol on December 6, 2022 at his residence in Ethelbert, MB at the age of 65 years . 

     Bruce was the fourth born of four children to his parents Cecil and Doreen Nichol on September 4, 1957 in Portage la Prairie, MB. Bruce grew up and attended school in Bagot, MB and MacGregor, MB.  He later went back and got his grade eleven in adult upgrading.

     Bruce had many experiences in his young adult life working with his father and brothers at their family bee farm.  Bruce was a hard-working man who worked all his life, at jobs in different areas and before his sudden passing he was still employed at Canway Inn & Suites in Dauphin, MB as a housekeeper.  

     Anyone who knew him, knew he always had a passion for raising and caring of his birds and before his sudden passing he had two birds that he truly adored and loved.  He also had a passion for his two Corvettes which he enjoyed working on and maintaining, but he really had a passion for one that was very sentimental to him.     

     Bruce was predeceased by his parents; father Cecil L. Nichol in May 2013, mother Doreen Nichol in August 2003 and his son Kevin Cail in July 2015.

     He is survived by his common-law wife, Evelyn Francis of Ethelbert, MB for 28 years.  Step-daughters Danielle (Eric) of Ethelbert, MB and Crystal of Dauphin, MB.  Biological daughters Nicole Cail and Tabitha Cail of Brandon, MB and Gwendolyn Lausberg of Airdrie, AB .  He also survived by sister Bernice of Ontario, brother Wayne (Margo) of MacGregor, MB,  brother Dwight (Nancy) of Austin, MB.  And many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. 

     Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30th, 2022. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Rd. S, Portage la Prairie.  Cremation to follow and his resting place will take place at a later date.
