Mary Eileen Beddome

     Peacefully and surrounded by love, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eileen Beddome, beloved wife of Glen Beddome on May 6th, 2022 at the age of 81 years. 

      Eileen was born on October 22nd, 1940 in Portage la Prairie, daughter of the late David and Mary Wood.  She received her education in Portage la Prairie, with a career later at the Portage Mutual. 

      Eileen married Ron Alan Duffie in July of 1960, which followed shortly after with his unfortunate death on November 11th, 1960. 

      Upon returning to Portage la Prairie with her children Ron and Cheryl, she met and married Glen Beddome on December 24th, 1988. 

      Eileen loved camping and fishing, she and Glen spent many a happy summer at Sportsman’s Corner where they made many lifelong friends.

     Glen and Eileen retired to Neepawa, MB, until most recently returning to Portage la Prairie to be closer to their families. 

     Left to cherish Eileen’s memory is her loving husband Glen, son Ron and his wife Nancy, daughter Cheryl, grandchildren; Jessica (Jon), Victoria, David, Shelby and Caelen,  stepchildren; Derrell, Darcy and her husband Chris, Kim (Jeff), Cam and his wife Nembia, grandchildren; Brady, Cory (Heather), Cam, Brandy (Tyson), Mitchell (Bre), Joel (Cassidy) and Reece, as well as her faithful companion Misty.

     Eileen was predeceased by her parents Dave & Mary (Montagnon) Wood and her first husband Ron Duffie.

     Eileen’s family would like to thank the Douglas Campbell Lodge for their care and compassion over the past few months.  It is greatly appreciated. 

      In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Eileen’s name to Alzheimer Society of MB, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB,  R3C 4G2.

    Eileen’s family will celebrate her life privately.
