Eileen Marie Dyer (Nee Pugh)

August 16, 1918 – March 24, 2016

On Thursday, March 24, 2016, Eileen Marie Dyer, of Portage la Prairie, passed away at the Lions Prairie Manor at the age of 97 years.

Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Friday, April 1st, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

Eileen was predeceased by her husband, Albert, her daughter, Sandra Sanders, sister, Dylis Jervis and brother, Russell Pugh. 

She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Trowsdale of London, Ontario, three grandchildren, Marlene Trowsdale of Ottawa, Ontario, Tracey Trowsdale-Pollitt of Sooke, British Columbia, Scott Sanders of Brandon, Manitoba and twelve great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

She will be dearly missed by family and friends but we can take comfort in knowing she had a long and fulfilling life that showed her kind and gentle soul and wonderful generosity to various organizations and charities.  She was a long time member of the United Church of Canada and a life-time member in the Order of Royal Purple.

She had been employed at the Post Office at Southport, and nursing at M.D.C.  She loved gardening, nature, and travelling but her friends and family were most important to her. 

A thank you to the home care and the staff of the Lions Prairie Manor for taking good care of her, and making her journey as comfortable as possible.
