Glen Gerald George Davis
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, brother, and friend, Glen Davis, on Thursday February 10 2022.
Glen was born on July 6th, 1947 in Portage la Prairie. He was the son of Gordon and Julia Davis and had two brothers Doug and Dale.
Glen lived most of his life in Portage and Brandon was an exceptional painter and spent most of his life in that career. He had a lot of love to give and always wanted to help someone in need especially the underdog.
His second wife Linda, who he would speak fondly of, was the reason he came to know about one of his most cherished beliefs, the hope of a resurrection of the dead and the paradise on earth. This always brought him much comfort.
Over the last few years Glen’s declining health caused him to lose desire and ability to participate in many things he loved such as painting, gardening, and fixing cars.
Dad loved attention no matter how little he got and had a contagious laugh and smile that could make anyone’s day. But he also very much enjoyed making people squirm a bit, so saying shocking things sometimes to get you to flinch became a fond habit of his... to his girls anyway.
Dad loved animals and had many throughout his life, his favourite being his last a beloved Chihuahua, Baby, who always got half of everything.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother Doug. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his children, grandchildren and his brother Dale.
We, the family, want to express gratitude for the excellent care given by the staff at the Lions Prairie Manor who took such good care of dad.
Should friends to desire, donations would be appreciated at PAWS, 121 – 12th St. N.E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 4A2
Glen’s family will celebrate his life privately.
