James Keith Armishaw
Peacefully, with family at his side, on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022, James Keith Armishaw, beloved husband of the late Audrey Armishaw, passed away at the age of 78 years.
Jim was born on August 3rd, 1943 at the Women’s Pavillion in Winnipeg. He was raised in the Poplar Bluff district on the family farm. He attended school at the Poplar Bluff School, graduated from Portage Collegiate Institute and continued on to get a degree in agriculture form the University of Manitoba in 1962.
In 1966, Jim married Audrey Jean Clearwater and in 1983 moved to Portage to take over the family farm. Throughout his career Jim was Department Manager in various Co-op Stores in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan. He was a valued 4H Member and a proud Kinsmen.
Throughout the years there were many who enjoyed a cold drink and a good laugh at “Honest Jim’s” – abattoir – smokehouse – garage – restaurant – lounge. He will always be remembered for all the shenanigans and generosity.
Jim was predeceased by his wife Audrey, and his parents Keith and Evelyn Armishaw.
He leaves to mourn his passing three sons; Partrick, Ian (Dayna), and Jason (Tara), two grandchildren Michael and Ashley (Jake), three great-grandchildren Zayden, Octavia and Rosie aka “Squeaky”.
