James (Jim) Daniel White

April 21st, 1919 - March 21st, 2016

Peacefully, on Monday, March 21st, 2016 at the Lions Prairie Manor, James (Jim) Daniel White, of Portage la Prairie, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” White, passed away at the age 96 years.   

 Memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Thursday, March 24th, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. with Beth Kerr officiating.

Jim was born in Carberry, MB and served in the Army during the war years and then joined the Air Force in 1954 retiring in 1969. He then worked at the base in a civilian capacity. He has resided in Portage la Prairie since 1965 and was a member of the Portage Canadian Legion Branch #65.

Predeceased by his wife, Betty White, and one brother, Charlie. Jim leaves to mourn his passing his two sons: Robert (Suzanne) of Corpus Christi, Texas, and their children: Dennis (Mikale) White, Jennifer (Jason) Thiessen, and Stephanie (Scott) Jones;  son Perry (Brenda) of Brainerd, Minnesota, and their children: Dylan, Bryce and Blair : eight great grandchildren.

Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
