John David Love

            On Saturday, October 29, 2016, John David (Jack) Love passed away at the Portage General Hospital at the age of 92 years.

            Jack was pre-deceased by his wife Margaret (Peggy), parents William and Betty, brothers George and Garnet, sister Annie, and son-in law Mel.  He will be sadly missed by children Lynn, Bonnie (Dale), Candace (Larry), and David; grandchildren David, Dale, Douglas (Selena), Krista, Kale (Leanne), Bonnie (Shawn), Melody (Chris) and Nicholas; great grandchildren Jared, Jordan, Kaitlynn and Collin; sister Dorothy and close friend Doreen.

            Jack was born and raised on the family farm in Oakland, MB, and farmed in Oakland until eventually retiring to Portage in 2011. He devoted his life to his family, to farming, and to the Oakland community. Over the years Jack served on the Oakland School Board, Oakland Rink Board, Pool Elevator board, and the Portage Co-op Board. Some of his favorite pastimes were playing cards, watching sports on TV, playing country music, and in younger days, curling at Oakland Rink and in Burnside League.

            A private family interment will take place at St Margaret Cemetery High Bluff, MB.

            The family would like to invite close friends and family to a reception in the  Magnolia Reception Centre at Omega Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM.
