Lois Joan Lowdon
Quietly, on August 16, 2023, our Mom, Grandma, and Sister, Lois Joan Lowdon (nee Maloney) passed away with family by her side. She was 90 years old.
She leaves to mourn and celebrate her life, her 3 children, daughter-in-law, and families; Gaylene McGillicky, Christie & Luiz Sousa (Thomas and Owen), Cory & Kristy McGillicky (Tracy, Sarah, and Zack), Jodi & Carey Beitel (Logan and Alexa), Jaye & Margaret Lowdon (Robert, Megan, and James), Jim & Sherrie Lowdon, Lori Lowdon and David, the Ken Lowdon family, Lynda & Steve Dunnet, Kathy & Kevin Butler, Dale & Barb Lowdon, Laurie and Lesley and families.
She is survived by her sister Eunice Donald & family, brother Joe Maloney & family, brother Ron & Lois Maloney & family, and nephews & nieces on Maloney and Lowdon sides. She is also survived by special friend Frank Penner, and sister-in-law Mary Lowdon.
Lois is pre-deceased by her parents Clarence & Viola Maloney, her husband Robert Lowdon, and second husband Ken Lowdon. She is also predeceased by her son Terry Lowdon, and son-in-law Guy McGillicky, sister & brother-in-law, Vera & Jim Dickson, brother & sister-in-law, Lloyd & Cecile Maloney, sister-in-law Paulette Maloney, brother-in-law Laurie Donald, and sister-in-law, Donna Maloney. She is pre-deceased by nephews; Kevin Maloney & Shane Dickson.
Thank you, to the doctors and nursing staff at the Lions Prairie Manor, for their care of Mom. Thank you, Frank Penner, for your companionship to Mom.
Service will be held at Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Rd N, Portage la Prairie, at 1:00pm on Friday, August 25, 2023. Interment to follow at the family plot at Oakville Cemetery.
