Patrick James Windling

A celebration of Patrick’s life will be observed on Saturday,  June 27th, with a come and go visitation which will be held from 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m at the Herman Prior Centre, 40 Royal Road N., Portage la Prairie, MB. 

Due to the pandemic, social distancing measures will be in place.

         His life taken too soon, we mourn the loss of Patrick, age 34 years of Bagot, MB.  Beloved husband to Amanda Welsh and daddy to Daphne.

     Patrick enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, cooking and watching the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from his season ticket seats or on TV.  He also had an interest for obscure facts. These made him a real asset on trivia nights!

     He loved to chat with just about anyone, recount stories, and often reminded us all of the funny things that have happened. He often chatted with patients and staff at Portage District General Hospital where he was employed. He enjoyed all forms of cooking, even making ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ for Amanda for breakfast one morning.

     Patrick was a straight forward kind of guy, and had no time for the ‘fluffy stuff’. The simpler and more straight forward the better. He did, however ensure that each of his nieces and nephews could give the best ‘wet willies’.

     Growing up Patrick was involved in Scouts where he earned his Chief Scout Award, Air Cadets achieving the rank of Warrant Officer Second Class, and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Bronze, Silver and Gold level.  His greatest pride, however was his daughter Daphne.

     Predeceased by Patrick are his sons; Zander and Jayme, and Pepere Marcel Comeault.  Left to mourn are wife Amanda, daughter Daphne, parents Yvette Comeault, Lawrence Windling (Linda), Val, Don (Jen), grandparents Agnes, Jean and Glen, sister Kim (Lance), brother Michael (Sam), brothers-in-law Joey (Sarah), Will (Chantell), sister-in law Krystee (Jeff), the Bodie family, nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.

     Special thanks to the Portage AA group for the support and friendship given to Patrick on his recovery.
