Robert Trowsky Obituary

Robert Steven Trowsky

It is with great sadness in our hearts, that we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Bob) Trowsky, beloved brother, uncle and friend. He was predeceased by his parents Tillie and Steve Trowsky and sister-in-law Marilyn Milne. Bob, as he was affectionately known, leaves to mourn his passing siblings; Shirl Kuharski, Ruth (Gerry) Hay, Pat (Dennis) Helwer, Gerry Trowsky, Tammy (Gerald) Klippenstein as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.

Bob was born near Roblin, Manitoba, spent his early years in Veregin, Saskatchewan and Austin, Manitoba before the family settled in Portage la Prairie.  He started his life-long career as a painter, starting with Hay Decorating during which time he acquired his journeyman’s papers and eventually worked in B.C. and northern Saskatchewan.  At this time, he decided to live in Saskatoon where he resided until 1982.  It was then Bob decided to return to Portage after Dad passed away.  He worked for Hay Decorating, Danny Maxwell, and at MDC until his retirement.

Family was always important to Bob whether it be hanging out in the backyard, going to the lake or attending family celebrations.  He loved to tease his sisters, bug his brother and spend time with his nieces and nephews when he could.  Stories of time spent with his cousins as well as his many workmates often became part of his conversations.  Bob enjoyed visiting, going for lunch and telling stories.

As a family, we would like to thank Mary and Mike Hordeski for the many years of friendship and checking in on Bob and for being there when we couldn’t be.  Also, a special thanks to Serena and Carly for the visits, rides and sharing your time with Uncle Bob.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 11th, at Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Rd. S., Portage la Prairie, MB from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Covid restrictions will be in place.   A family service will be held at a later date.

If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 1379 Kenaston Blvd, Winnipeg, MB   R3P 2T5 or to the charity of one’s choice.
