Memorial Service for Ruth Boyachek

Family and friends are welcome to join Ruth's family for 

fellowship, refreshments and lunch following the memorial service 

in the Magnolia Room at Omega Funeral Home.

Private family internment to take place prior to the service.

     Peacefully on March 31st, 2022 at the Lion’s Prairie Manor, Ruth Catherine Boyachek, beloved wife of the late Fred, passed away at the age of 99 years. 

     Ruth was born on January 21st, 1923 and raised on the Lee Tully farm at Curtis Siding with four sisters and three brothers.  She was a bookkeeper at the Portage la Prairie Co-op until she met Fred and they married, moved to the Wingham Community where they farmed and raised their family of four until 2005. 

     Ruth was a great cook, especially her soups and tea biscuits.  If you asked for one of her tea biscuits, she whipped them up right in front of you.  The coffee pot was always on.  She had a very special way with any farm animal.  She bred Cocker Spaniels in her early farm life. 

     Any stray cat knew they had found a perfect new home with Ruth.  Their home was there for those who needed a temporary or long stay residence.  Her home was filled with laughter and music, music, music, anytime of the day or night.  Mom also loved to dance.

     Fred and Ruth worked side by side on every aspect of the farm.  She could take over any job that was needed when Fred played for his weekend dances. 

     Left to cherish her memory are her children; Judy, June, Garry and Dick, grandchildren; Troy, Ryan, Heather, Kelly, Brennan, Kim and Mark, great-grandchildren; Tonya, Marie, Hayley, Taylor, Courtney, Ben, Jax, Callie, Sunny & Mollie,  great-great-grandchildren; Sabrina & Zaki.  Also, her sister Hazel King of Winnipeg. 

      Ruth was predeceased by her husband Fred, grandson Jordan, her three sisters and three brothers.  She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

     Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 11th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Rd. S., Portage la Prairie, with Wilma Shirriff officiating.  Fellowship, lunch and refreshments to follow the service.  A private family interment will be held prior to the service.
