Edna Switzer (Wirch)
Edna passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and family on March 8th, 2022.
She leaves to mourn her daughters; Grace Gancarz (Brian), Stella Lone (Murray), Donna (Stuart – deceased) and Albert, grandchildren; Chad and Kevin Lone (Allison), Jacqueline Gancarz (Ryan), as well as great-grandchildren; Ty and Julia Lone and Rylee Potter.
Edna was predeceased by her husband Donald Switzer and son Brian.
Edna was born in Moosehorn, MB, July 26th, 1925, the youngest of 10 children. In 1949 she married and lived in Minnetonas, where her first three children; Grace, Brian and Stella were born. In 1959 they moved to Winnipeg where they lived until 1959 when they moved to Portage la Prairie. It was here that she married Don in 1960 and Albert and Donna were added to the family.
Edna enjoyed baking, crafts, gardening and especially flowers. She always had a variety of flowers, but loved roses.
A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Saturday, March 12th at 2:00 p.m with Reverend Calvin Young officiating.
