Wesley Raymond Packham
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Wesley Raymond Packham of Oakville, MB, with his daughters by his side on Sunday, March 3rd, 2019 at the age of 88 years.
Wes was predeceased by his first wife Maxine in 1988, and second wife Angela in 2013, along with his only sibling Eileen Barber in 1987. His memory will be lovingly remembered by daughters; Candace Packham and her sons, Reed and Brynn Beaudry, and Tanice Houston and her daughters Candace (Andrew Ramage) and Carrie (Andrew Valgardson). Wes is also survived by Angela’s daughters Giselle, Nicole, Janet, Michelle and their families.
Wes was born in Moosomin, Saskatchewan on June 2nd, 1930 to Annie and Fred Packham. He followed his forefathers’ farming dreams, and his desire to be a self-made man brought him to Oakville thanks to Les & Dorothy Murray. He would always appreciate their efforts to support him as he struck out on his own. In addition to over 60 years of successful farming, he worked on construction projects including the Winnipeg Floodway and the Dempster and McKenzie Highways.
A Celebration of Wes’s life will be held on Saturday, March 9th, 2019 at 2:00p.m., at Knox United Church, in Oakville, MB.
We were blessed to have been able to spend Dad’s last years with him. Special thanks go to Dr. Quesada at the Portage Clinic, and Dr. Guzman at the St. Boniface Hospital for their efforts to ensure a continued quality of life.
