Shown below are some ideas which families have used to celebrate the life of their loved one. You may not wish to use any of these ideas regarding the services, or may have some of your own ideas to make your loved ones funeral special and memorable; regardless, it is important to keep in mind that there is no right or wrong way to arrange funeral services. As long as we stay within the laws of the local and provincial government, we can help you with these arrangements.

Viewing and visitation (prior to service or cremation)

Use clothing that your loved one liked and would have worn; it is not necessary to use a suit or dress.

Display photos or special memorabilia that reflect the person’s life.

Play special music during the visitation and prior to the service.

Encourage children to write letters to their loved one to express their feelings and assist them with the grieving process.

The service

Use special music during the service. We can play cassettes and CD’s throughout the funeral home.

Have a friend or family member give a eulogy, or read some scripture, or a favorite poem or writing of the loved one.

Include the younger members of the family by having them sit at the guest book or acting as flower bearers.

Keepsakes

Make an audio tape of the service. We have the ability to tape the service through our sound system if the family wishes.

Make a video tape of the service. We can assist you in finding someone who could tape the service for you.

Pass out flowers at the cemetery to the family so they will have a reminder of the service.
