August 10, 1942 – October 8, 2016

            Peacefully, but with great sadness on October 8, 2016, Emery Richard passed away at the Portage District General hospital at the age of 74 years.

            Emery will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marie; children Brian, Stewart (Charlene), Carrie (Robert), Vanessa (William), Charles and Becky. Grandfather of Terri-Lynne, Jocelyn, Marion, Kenneth, Mercedes, Alex, Shania, Jayden, Kobi, Tristan, Neelin, Phoenix, Austin, Ciara, Jeremy, Kerisha, Kalub, Amber, Kacey and Summer; as well as numerous family members and close friends. Emery was predeceased by his parents Maglorie and Melanie; brothers, Alex, Pete, Clement, Nelson (Mary) and Louis.

            His family invites family and friends to a service to celebrate his life at the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2016 with a reception to follow. Prayers will be held at Omega Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 5:00 PM.

            Born Emery George Richard, he was born August 10, 1942 in Camperville, MB where he met his wife Marie. Then later he moved to Portage la Prairie in 1964 and had 6 beautiful children. He adored his children and grandchildren. Emery was a hard working father to his family and he was employed in the farming industry for many years. But he also loved spending time horse racing at Assiniboine Downs in Winnipeg.
