    On Thursday, August 18, 2016 Brett Alan James Sandney, 20 years old of Portage la Prairie, MB passed away.
    Our son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, grandson, nephew and friend left us to mourn a beautiful soul for the rest of our lives. Brett loved many people and many things and he was hard to resist. The youngest of 5 siblings, bound to be spoiled from the get-go, knew how to charm/manipulate or maybe we should say “convince” his mom & dad or brothers and even his close buddies that he should have his own way and usually got it. He loved music, particularly rap, but was known to sing anything around the house even hitting the high notes to some Taylor Swift songs. He loved his dogs. He loved his boys (best friends). He loved his nephews and was adored by them. He loved his family with a fierceness and we loved him back, as fiercely. We will hold him closely, safely in our hearts forever. 
    Brett leaves behind his parents Michael and Donna; big brothers Shane, David and Jesse; sister-in-law Jennifer and nephews Owen & Aiden; sister Michelle Barlow and nieces Sarah & Kayla Francis.
    While he leaves us behind he has gone on to join his nannie & grandpa, Irene & Lawrence Sandney, his uncle Theo Asham and Peter Anderson, the grandpa he never knew.
    Viewing will be held Tuesday evening, August 23, 2016, from 7:30-8:30 pm at the Omega Funeral Home. 
    Funeral service was held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 1:30 pm with Rev. John Zondag officiating. Interment followed at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery. Lunch followed at ANAF. Pallbearers were Shane Sandney, David Sandney, Jesse Sandney, Kyle Sandney, Anthony Wilson, Trenton Silver, Blake Roberts and Tariku Bunne. Honourary Pallbearers were Brayden Vey, Brandon Tidsbury, Dennis Desmerais, Tristen Elliot, Tayten Attwood, Sean Roulette, Austin Ellwood, Nick Harris, Tsega Bunne, Quincy Paquin and Ethan Roulette. Flower bearers were Krystal Sandney and Kerri Sandney.
