So sorry to hear of "Uncle" Ben passing away. The second time I met him a number of years ago I told him he reminded me of an Uncle I had that had the same wisdom and compassion, and if he minded me calling him Uncle, to which he replied" I would be honored". So, Uncle Ben, may you continue your journey with the ones you love, and may you rest in peace knowing now that you have obviously touched more lives than you could have imagined.

I met Ben through my brother Ron. Ben was a kind and caring man who always made time to stop and chat wherever we met. I was always impressed with his wry sense of humor and the "twinkle" in his eye. My condolences to his family on his passing. He will be greatly missed .

My sincere condolences to the family of "gentle Ben". He was a true friend to many. His coffee shop buddies will miss his humor and tremendous knowledge that was such a pleasure to share with him. May your angel in heaven keep you safe in her arms.

To all those that we consider our 'family' we extend to you all our most heartfelt sympathies and share with you all in your grief. We are so happy to have had Ben in our lives for so many years, and to have been welcomed into your family as a 'brother and sister'. Shelley and I were so very close to Ben that he really was like another 'dad' to us and we shall forever be reminded of his love, kindness, compassion, generosity and empathy. He knew instinctively what was on the heart and mind of my dear Shelley, who although non vocal, could speak volumes with her smile and her eyes! Ben would often say, "Shelley deserves the 'smile of the year' award!" And they shared that very special bond right up until the end when we entered his hospital room and he would reach out and take hold of her hand for often times the duration of our stay with him. We will cherish those moments and every memory of the time spent with this very special man. Our world has been changed for having had Ben in our lives, and it has been lessened by his having left us. But we know of his hope, and we know he is asleep awaiting the resurrection for which he spoke to us on one of our visits to him. We know he is at peace and awaiting a much better world. We share in your grief at this time, but also have to smile as we think back and cherish every laugh, every smile that Ben brought to our lives. We love you all as our family and extend to you that love and our most heartfelt sympathy in this all of our loss. Love always, Ron and Shelley Stewart
