Roberta Chepil (nee Johnson)
Suddenly with family at her side, on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Portage District General Hospital, Roberta Chepil of Portage la Prairie, widow of the late Nicholas Chepil passed away at the age of 90 years.
Roberta was predeceased by husband Nicholas in 1973.  She is survived by her children Mack and Cathy Chepil, her grandchildren Andrea and Pam Whaley, her sister Doreen Beisel, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Roberta was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, and relative whose family always came first.  She was there wherever and whenever needed.  Her home was always open and welcoming to family and friends.  She was ready and eager to share a meal, attend a local event, or try a new adventure.  For many years Roberta taught school in the Portage district and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, McKenzie United Church, and Fort la Reine museum.   She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Emergency Room and ICU from the Portage District General Hospital for their generous care.
Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Rd. S., Portage la Prairie, on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Marg Scott officiating.  Interment will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Portage la Prairie.
